UPSC Announces Final Results for Indian Forest Service Examination 2023

1. In a significant development, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has disclosed the final results for the Indian Forest Service Examination 2023. The exhaustive examination, conducted from 26th November to 3rd December 2023, saw a rigorous selection process, followed by interviews for the Personality Test held from 22nd April to 1st May 2024.

After meticulous evaluation and assessment, the UPSC has unveiled the list of candidates recommended for appointment to various esteemed positions within the Indian Forest Service. The announcement, made today on 8th May 2024 at 4:49 PM by PIB Delhi, showcases the exceptional merit of these candidates.

2. Breakdown of Recommended Candidates:

A total of 147 candidates have been recommended for appointment under various categories, with the following distribution:

  • General: 43 (including 01 PwBD-3)
  • EWS: 20 (including 01 PwBD-3)
  • OBC: 51 (including 02 PwBD-2)
  • SC: 22 (including 01 PwBD-2)
  • ST: 11
  • Total: 147# (including 03 PwBD-2 & 02 PwBD-3)

Note: # 03 current vacancies of PwBD (02 PwBD-1 and 01 PwBD-3) have been carried forward to the next recruitment year due to non-availability of candidates.

3. Appointment Process:

Appointments will be made by the Government based on the number of vacancies available and subject to candidates fulfilling all prescribed eligibility conditions/provisions contained in the Rules for the Examination. The number of vacancies reported by the Government are as follows:

  • General: 62
  • EWS: 15
  • OBC: 40
  • SC: 22
  • ST: 11
  • Total: 150* (*Including 08 PwBD vacancies – 03 PwBD-1, 02 PwBD-2 & 03 PwBD-3)

5. Information and Clarifications:

The Union Public Service Commission has established a ‘Facilitation Counter’ near the Examination Hall Building in its Campus. Candidates may obtain any information/clarification regarding their Examination/Recruitments on working days between 10:00 A.M. and 05:00 P.M. in person or over Telephone Nos.011-23385271 / 23381125. The result will also be available on the Commission’s Website, i.e., www.upsc.gov.in. However, marks of candidates shall be made available on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of declaration of the result.
