IISc Bangalore Revises COAP 2025 Schedule: Key Dates & Process for GATE Admissions

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has revised the schedule for the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2025, a crucial platform for admissions to Master of Technology (MTech) programs and recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025.

Eligibility for COAP 2025

Candidates holding a valid GATE score from 2025 or the past two years are eligible to participate in the COAP process. However, candidates must apply separately to each participating institution or organization offering admissions or job opportunities.

Several prestigious institutes, including IISc Bangalore and leading Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Roorkee, are part of this process.

Understanding the COAP 2025 Admission Process

The COAP 2025 process includes multiple rounds where candidates can select from the following options:

  • Accept and Freeze: Choose this option if you wish to accept the offer and do not want to participate in further rounds.

  • Retain and Wait: This option allows candidates to keep their offer while waiting for a better one in subsequent rounds. However, it can be used only twice for the same offer during rounds one to four.

  • Reject and Wait: Candidates can reject the current offer and wait for another opportunity in future rounds.

In Round 5, candidates must make a final decision, as only the “Accept and Freeze” or “Reject” options will be available. Rounds six to ten function independently, giving candidates similar decision-making options.

Below is the complete list of the revised schedule for GATE COAP 2025:

Round 1 May 14 (10:00 AM) – May 16 (06:00 PM)
Round 2 May 20 (10:00 AM) – May 22 (06:00 PM)
Round 3 May 26 (10:00 AM) – May 28 (06:00 PM)
Round 4 June 02 (10:00 AM) – June 04 (06:00 PM)
Round 5 June 08 (10:00 AM) – June 10 (06:00 PM)

For participating IITs that extend beyond Round 9, Rounds 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 will function as independent Decisive Rounds. In these rounds, candidates will have only two options: “Accept and Freeze” or “Reject.”
